UK-based melodic metal band The Raven Age have released a new song with video, ‘Forgive & Forget’, on all streaming platforms. The track will appear on the band’s new album, Blood Omen, out July 7th. Watch the video below.
The band’s lineup includes guitarist George Harris, guitarist Tommy Gentry, bassist Matt Cox, drummer Jay Patel, and singer Matt “MJ” James.
Plunging into a searing lead guitar riff, “Forgive & Forget” is a genre-defining sonic gallop, upbeat and catchy, yet with the band’s signature ambition and heaviness. “It’s about letting go of old demons and not allowing unwanted memories to shape your future,” explains lead guitarist and songwriter George Harris.
Conceived, produced and directed by the band themselves, the Tarantino-inspired video was shot in the legendary Laredo Western Town. “Forgive & Forget, we wanted to try something completely different,” says singer Matt James. “We wanted to follow up on our two recent singles ‘Serpents Tongue’ and ‘Parasite’ with a horror vibe but with a spin…and see how far we could push it. We felt cowboys and zombies were definitely something unique and we found the perfect place to make it happen!”
The band is pushing everything further than ever before. The chorus is made for the arena, and the riff is taut and direct, piercing straight into the neck. The creative ambition displayed in this video is evident throughout Blood Omen, the upcoming album released on July 7th via Music for Nations/Sony Music, with Matt Hyde ( Slipknot, Machine Head, Bullet for My Valentine) and the final track was mastered by Finnvox’s Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Children of Bodom, HIM).
Blood Omen is pressed on standard clear red vinyl, standard jewel case CD, deluxe hardcover CD with special artwork, and black and red splatter vinyl with additional special artwork. Available in several formats, including a deluxe LP version in a spread package.
