Music streaming platform Spotify is officially testing a new feature called ‘Your Offline Mix’. This is a playlist designed for users who may not be online but want to listen to their favorite playlists.
Spotify CEO Daniel Ek tweeted that the company is testing “Your Offline Mix.” However, he did not go into further details.
In particular, it’s unclear when the company plans to release this feature.
“We are testing a new feature called ‘Your Offline Mix’. This is a playlist designed for when you’re not online. What do you think?” Ek tweeted on Thursday.
A screenshot posted by Ek shows that these playlists can store music with hours of playtime. This can be useful if the user is about to board a flight but forgets to download the music.
Several users have expressed their opinions about this development.
“This is very useful when you’re traveling in the middle of nowhere and forget to download a playlist,” one user commented.
“Finally!! Please allow offline music or offline podcasts to be filtered too!!” another user said.
Meanwhile, Spotify has started rolling out an AI feature called “DJ” for premium customers in the UK and Ireland.
