Spotify hosted a pop-up listening experience in Lagos to celebrate the release of Davido’s album.
David put out ‘timelessAfter much anticipation from fans, a 17-track studio album will be released on March 31st.
To celebrate the release, Spotify hosted the singer’s fans at a listening event on Saturday, April 1st. Lagos.
The event featured an art installation documenting Davido’s career and explaining the story behind his new album.
With a musical policy determined by a team of disc jockeys, fans sang along to their favorite tracks from “Timeless.”
The pop-up event featured a merch collaboration with Nigerian urban streetwear brand Severe Nature.
The event was attended by Tobi Mohammed of The Plug and Princess Okereugo of Sony Music West Africa.
David, who was out of the US on promotional duties, sent a video message thanking the attendees for their support.
As part of the celebration, Spotify promoted “Timeless” on New York’s iconic Times Square billboard.
Davido’s album features a producer, songwriter, guest artist and two of his label’s signatories.
It features collaborations with musicians such as Asake, Fave, Focalistic, Angelique Kidjo and Skepta.
‘Timeless’ is Davido’s fourth album, following ‘OBO’ (2012), ‘A Good Time’ (2019) and ‘A Better Time’ (2020).
