Lahore: Pakistan’s Tehreek-i-Insaf has decided to start interviewing party ticket candidates for the upcoming general election in Punjab from Thursday (today).
The decision was made at a meeting chaired by PTI chief Imran Khan and attended by Secretary General Asad Umer, senior vice president Fawad Chaudhry and other party leaders on Wednesday.
At the meeting it was decided that the candidate interview and selection process would be completed in one week. The candidate who won more than his 50% of the seats has fought in the 2018 elections to win seats and deliver results, and has already made a final decision, according to inside party sources. .
The meeting lauded the achievements of upholding the law and the constitution and condemned all those who attacked the judiciary and tried to delay elections.
PTI Central Punjab President Dr. Yasmin Rashid said when contacted, party leader Imran Khan himself would interview all candidates and choose merit. She said the party ticket candidate had already submitted her nomination papers to the Pakistan Electoral Commission.
