Meghan Markle’s podcast “Archetypes” has been canceled amid reports that Spotify cut another 200 jobs due to unprofitability.
The decision to cut further jobs comes after Spotify laid off about 600 employees and said goodbye to podcast head Dawn Ostroff, who signed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s contract, according to British media reports. It is said that it was taken down after more than five months.
Spotify has yet to confirm that the Meghan Markle-hosted podcast has been cancelled.
The podcast debuted on August 23, 2022 and featured Meghan speaking with celebrities, historians and experts about the history of stereotypes that discriminate against women.
Spotify reportedly paid more than $18 million for Meghan’s podcast “Archetypes.”
The Duchess of Sussex’s podcast has struggled to hold onto the top spot since its debut in August 2022, and by November the podcast had slipped to number 22 on the charts.
Meghan Markle was honored at the 48th Annual Gracie Awards for Podcasts.
