Kelly Clarkson’s new song ‘Mine’ is going to be a hit.
On Tuesday, April 4, Clarkson, 40, teased the song when he shared a clip of himself recording the breakup song in the studio.
“Somebody’s gonna show you how you can use your heart like I do,” she was heard singing in a black-and-white clip.
In the caption, Clarkson said “Mine” will be released on April 14th.
Singer Luis Fonsi shared four flame emojis in the comments, but he wasn’t the only one who liked the song.
“This gives the feel of my favorite album, ‘My December’. So excited to hear her new music,” one wrote.
Another referred to Clarkson’s divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, saying, “Yes!!!! It’s the divorce record we’ve all been waiting for.”
A third said it feels like a long time since Clarkson released music. “It’s been 84 years 😢🙌❤️,” they wrote.
In March, Clarkson apparently referenced her divorce from Blackstock when she covered Gail’s “abcdefu” song on “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
Instead of singing the original lyrics of the song, “You and your mother/And your sister and your job/And your broken car and it’s what you call art,” Clarkson sang . “Forget you and your dad / And the fact that you got half and my heartbreak / Turned it into (expletive) art.”
Clarkson’s divorce from Blackstock also inspired her to write new music. In September, she told Variety that she began work on her next album, Chemistry, when she parted ways with Blackstock in 2020.
And last month, she appeared in an Instagram video revealing why she called her next album “Chemistry.”
“It’s called ‘Chemistry’ because I was trying to find the words…it was the word that really explained it all, because ‘I’m angry. I’m sad. One “It’s just two emotions,” she said. They are.”
