Justin K. Broadrick is working with the Dirk Series on a new project called Loud As Giants.They plan to release a new EP titled empty house April 28th! In anticipation of their next EP, the group released their first song, “Monuments”. The track begins with a pulsing guitar and drum beat. His 12:30 instrumental song continues to build, adding more distorted instruments as the minutes pass.
Broadrick The series has been in the music industry for quite some time. They last collaborated on projects like Fear Falls Burning and Final. Their rekindling is what they describe as a “journey down memory lane”. On Loud As Giants, the duo don’t try to reinvent music, but instead aim to create music that evokes what they grew up with.
empty house It may be rooted in music from the past, but the themes are topical. Pandemics, isolation, and global nostalgia are all factors that help create an EP. “I love solitude, but only when I choose,” says Broadrick. He continues: The room in which we live and spend our existence, which I cannot fully reckon or articulate, feels all filled with loss and emptiness…”
