One of the first songs Joseph recorded Sun, the album’s sparkling title track served as something of a sonic breakthrough for Joseph. The band tested it for audiences while on tour with The Shins, taking a slower, acoustic and serious version of the song out on the road. When it came time to produce the track with the help of longtime producer Reggie Langdon, the song took on a more upbeat, summery, sunny vibe.
