magic flute Takes us into the world of a music school boy (Jack Wolfe). He is grieving, trying to navigate new places, and magical worlds he finds at the same time every day, each time transported to Mozart’s masterpiece. And it’s a beautiful love letter to the exploration of music, art, and its creativity! Towards the release of the film, we spoke with director Florian Sigurd and star Jack Wolfe about bringing the story to life.
For Sigl, one of the exciting parts of the film was having F. Murray Abraham join the film’s cast.Abraham is famous for playing Antonio Salieri in the movie Amadeus Participating in a musical about the works of Mozart. So when I asked about the involvement, Sigurd made it clear that he didn’t even consider Abraham for the part.
“I wasn’t thinking of him. So I made myself a shortlist of two or three actors that I thought might be cool for Longberg,” he said. “And then we brought in Sophie Holland, a really great casting director from London. Wednesday And then she came up with Murray. But actually, if I remember correctly, she didn’t remember him being inside. Amadeus. She just thought he was a great actor for the part. ”
Sigl spoke about how Abraham’s recently deceased wife, Kate Hannan, encouraged him to take the role because of her legacy. And at some point his wife made him, unfortunately she died recently because she was really sick, but that was one of the last things. He didn’t want to leave her because she was ill, and she argued, basically, your career started with Mozart, and now would be a good time to do so. I sent him, she stayed in New York, he came, we shot, and it was my first big movie and it was a great honor and a great joy.

Jack Wolf loves fantasy
First, I misspelled this by saying that F. Murray Abraham played Mozart.it’s not really his role Amadeus Sorry for that!But with Jack Wolfe killing it now, I was nervous! Wolfe isn’t just leading magic flute Although bringing emotional depth to the role that makes him an absolute star, he also joined the cast of shadow and bone On to season 2! he is awesome!
So talking to him was so much fun! For him these two roles both tackle fantasy worlds and are difficult adventures to embark on, but Wolfe clearly knew he was ready, so much about fantasy as a genre. I talked about
“It must have been pretty scary because it’s famous, right?” he said. “It’s kind of a known title, and I was aware of it. It’s intimidating because sometimes opera can feel intimidating. Luckily, I had a great coach, Sam Kenyon, to teach me how to sing like I did, and I had two great opera singers on set. I was surrounded by great artists who I could take advice from, including, so I was really helped by people I could trust all the way through, so it was very scary for so many reasons.It was my first It was a feature film and it was a huge fantasy, but it was also an opera and it had songs.
