John Wick: Hiroyuki Sanada and Shamiye Anderson in Chapter 4
Screen Rant: Great job on this movie.of John Wick The franchise is one of those that gets better with each installment. Can you talk about working with Hiroyuki, Donnie Yen and Keanu Reeves to create chemistry between the three, both in action and friendship?
Hiroyuki Sanada: Plays Koji Shimazu, an old friend of John Wick, the manager of the Osaka Continental Hotel, and a daughter. When I worked with Keanu 12 years ago, he told me about John Wick. He was planning to make a big action movie with Chad.
This time, I finally had a wonderful reunion with him in Chapter 4. I’ve never worked with Donnie, but maybe it’s because I grew up in the Asian industry. It felt like an old friend of mine.so [our] triangular brothers [it’s easy] create chemistry
Shamir, I love trackers. He’s a great new character and more military than anyone else. Please tell us about your approach to characters.
Shamir Anderson: My research has that background, so I’m glad you raised the military. I built an incredible backstory. And in this fantasy world, I think it’s important to try to find something that can anchor you to the truth.
There are a lot of cool things I brought to the table, and I pitched one of them specifically to our director, Chad. So he’s conscious of the world from a bird’s eye view, big brother’s point of view.? ” why? That’s why he calls himself Mr. Nobody. That’s why he doesn’t take the Marquis too seriously. That’s why he has a dog and he’s “crazy.”
I think he came to this world as a disruptor because he studied each person. And I thought that was a cool attribute to draw him into this world as much as we do with audiences entering the world of John Wick. I really have a feeling we’ll be seeing Tracker watching John all the way from the first movie [through].
It’s an incredible premise for a tracker movie. I like that. Question for both of you: What did you want to bring to the role that wasn’t necessarily on the page, and how much did you work with Chad?
Hiroyuki Sanada: Well, [for] My role, brotherhood is the most important thing. Also, Chad wanted to include the spirit of Bushido, so he asked me to use a Japanese sword, so I included things like Samurai Way and Samurai Decision. That’s my background.
