Eminem’s classic album is the third album to reach the milestone of 3.4 billion plays on Spotify.
100 million new streams in 50 days – this is how fast MMLP is getting streams, adding about 2 million plays every day. More so these days. Yesterday, the album received over 2.5 million views of his, making it Marshall’s third most listened to project of hers.
Released in 2000, Em’s third studio record was an instant hit. “The Marshall Mathers LP” landed at the top of the charts in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Germany and Denmark. Since then he has been certified 11x platinum in the US, 9x platinum in the UK, 8x platinum in Canada and platinum of all kinds and sizes in other countries. MMLP produced such singles as “The Real Slim Shady”, “The Way I Am”, “Stan”, “I’m Back” and “Bitch Please II”.
The audacious and irreverent record rocked a world that had to regroup to accommodate a star the size of Marshall. But the album is still the same, working perfectly as both a time capsule and a time his machine, still relevant and a bit nostalgic.
Listen to the album below.
