Formed in Stockholm in 1988, Electric Boys are a band with roots in 70’s groove rock and 60’s pop and psychedelia. Their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Funk-O-Metal Carpet Ride’ was produced by Bob Rock (Metallica, Bon Jovi, The Cult, Mötley Crüe) and featured the Billboard Top 20 single ‘All Lips ‘N’ Hips’. produced. ‘ garnered heavy rotation on MTV.
After an extensive tour, the band entered the legendary Abbey Road studio to record the follow-up, ‘Groovus Maximus’. This earned the band a Billboard Top 30 single with the song “Mary In The Mystery World”. Their third album Freewheelin’ (also recorded at Abbey Road) reached number 16 on the official Swedish album chart before the band’s demise in 1994.
Guitarist and lead singer Connie Bloom continued her solo career until 2005, when she joined the legendary Hanoi Rocks with bassist Andy Kristel. They released the album ‘And Them Boys Done Swang’ in 2011 and the critically-acclaimed favorite ‘Starflight United’ in 2014.
In 2018, we finally made our return to studio albums. ‘The Ghost Ward Diaries’ not only topped the Swedish and Danish charts, but also brought the distinctive sound of Electric Boys to countless fans and new listeners. Nearly three years later, “Ups!de Down,” already written under lockdown, repeated its success, but with a wider range of songs.
