Former President Donald Trump will arrive at Trump Tower in New York to spend the night before facing criminal charges.
Mr Trump’s visit to Manhattan will see him charged with allegedly involving him in paying hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels.
The exact charges he faces will be fully disclosed at a hearing around 14:15 local time (19:15 BST).
Mr Trump, 76, is the first US president in history to face a criminal case.
Trump, a Republican, wrote “a witch hunt” on the Truth Social platform just before moving from his home in Florida on Monday. This is a phrase he has used to criticize other investigations he has faced.

In anticipation of his arrival, the intersections around Trump Tower, the former president’s residence in Manhattan, were crowded with New Yorkers and tourists who stopped to watch the scene on Monday.At least five news helicopters flew down Fifth Avenue. Trump waved to media and crowds of supporters and protesters before entering the skyscraper under heavy security shortly after 16:15 local time (20:15 GMT).

He was expected to spend the rest of his days at home with his legal counsel, a team that grew on Monday with the addition of Todd Blanche. has represented former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort.
Police, court officials and Secret Service agents are scheduled to escort Trump from New York (the city where he grew up and built his fortune empire) to a courthouse in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday morning.
The president is expected to turn himself in first in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office before being arraigned in court.
He then appears before a judge and an indictment – a series of charges – is read out. His lawyers have already said he will plead not guilty.
US media reported that Trump faces at least one felony count in connection with falsifying business records. Other reports say his indictment contains about 30 counts, all of which relate to payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels during his 2016 election.
The press has lobbied Judge Juan Marchan to allow cameras in court, but Trump’s legal team is against it. In the letter, the lawyers said they “argued that the media request should be denied because the arraignment would create a circus atmosphere.”
The former president has been released on bail and is scheduled to return to his Mar-a-Lago, Florida home on Tuesday night and speak at 20:15 local time.
Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, New York Police Department, court officials, and the Secret Service, were coordinating the security of the hearing.
At a news conference Monday, New York City Mayor Eric Adams said there were no specific threats to the city, but officials were prepared.
“There may be agitators thinking about coming to our city tomorrow, but our message is clear and simple: restrain yourself,” he said. “New York is our home, not the place of your misplaced anger.”
President Joe Biden told reporters at an event in Minnesota that he was not worried about the unrest in New York, saying, “I trust the New York Police Department.”
