Chelsea are reportedly set to interview unemployed Mauricio Pochettino for the manager job that is currently vacant.
According to The Telegraph, the Blues will talk to a number of candidates before making a final decision on who will be the new head.
Graham Potter was relieved of his duties yesterday after a harrowing few months at Stamford Bridge.
Two wins in the last 17 games made it very difficult for Todd Boehly to continue to support his reps.
However, a loss to Aston Villa that saw them drop to the bottom half of the table was enough for them to believe that the club was not showing signs of progress enough.
A big decision has to be made about who will be the next manager to try to put the Blues back on top.
Pochettino being interviewed
The timing of Julian Nagelsmann’s sacking at Bayern Munich makes it very easy to tie the young manager up with the hot seat at Stamford Bridge.
However, it is widely expected that he will want to wait until the end of the season before taking on a new job.
This opens the opportunity for many other candidates to claim the role.
One manager who has always been linked to Chelsea’s standard job is Pochettino, although there have been several seasons where he has been unemployed.

The former Spurs man was reportedly on the verge of taking over the job when Thomas Tuchel was sacked last year.
Nonetheless, he is set to be one of many candidates to be interviewed by the club in what appears to be a large recruitment process.
Many Leftfield names have been mentioned as potential successors to Potter. Ruben Amorim and Oliver Glasner are both up-and-coming coaches tied to the job.
