Central Cee and Dave are making streaming history with their debut collaboration, celebrating their 25th birthday and climbing to the top of the UK charts. If that wasn’t enough, the London-based rhymers have also released a surprise joint EP.
On Monday (June 5), Spotify announced that “Splinter” became the UK’s most-streamed song in a single day on Friday, June 2nd. The song was also the most streamed hip-hop song of 2018. Just one day in the UK in the history of the platform.
Santan and Cenci have made a big impact outside of the UK, taking home the top new music streaming debuts on Spotify this week.
According to chart data, “Splinter” debuted at number 9 on Spotify’s global charts. 3,867,000 stream. This ranking puts Central Sea and Dave ahead of The Weeknd and Playboy Carti as the top new entries.
With “Splinter” racking up another 10 million YouTube views in the four days since its release, fans just can’t get enough of the song.
