New song by duo Dumbest Girl Alive, 100 gecs.The song is said to be on their new album 10,000 Gex.
According to the duo’s Pitchfork, “We have announced a release date for our follow-up in 2019. 1000 Gex Surprise release in December Snake Eyes EP at the same time. “
dumbest girl alive, is an upbeat song that requires you to jump and stand up with her instead of just sitting down and listening. The electronic sounds and music they use sound similar to early 2000s punk rock music.
It begins with Dylan Brady sitting on the basement steps, holding a guitar and staring off into the distance. Then, the sound of old film being rolled up is heard, and Laura Les slowly appears in a hologram. She sings and dances to the music.
This hyper-pop tune is a fan favorite. Towards the end, Brady plays guitar and the song’s tone softens. It was a very unique way to end the song. I didn’t feel rushed and blended in perfectly.
