Since the feature’s debut in 2017, Spotify codes have been utilized as an easy way to share and discover music, similar to QR codes. So how do they work?
Spotify code Generate a unique link to the track, album or playlist you want to share. Similar to a QR code, other people can scan the code and listen to the same music. Each artist, track, album and playlist can have a unique code so you can share anything on Spotify the way you want.
How do I get a Spotify Code?
Spotify codes are available for free and premium subscribers and can be used by anyone. To generate a code, click the three dots (next to the heart icon) above what you want to share. This button will appear for all albums, tracks, playlists and artists.

How do I redeem my Spotify Code?
If you’re in the same location as the person you want to share with, they can scan the code directly from the Spotify app. You can also save the image to Photos and send it to others to open in Spotify.
To scan the Spotify code, tap the camera button on the right side of the search bar in the Spotify app and tap “Scan”. Accepting the permission allows Spotify to access your camera, allowing you to scan codes from other people’s devices or photos.
If someone sent you an image, you can select Select from Photos to find the image in your library. Choose “Select” and Spotify will lovingly take you to a track, album, playlist, or artist that’s been shared with you.
Where else can I use my Spotify Code?
