veiled comment: “for black ritual We wanted to take everything we had done before to the next level, both musically and visually.
Everything we create is rooted in the universe we are creating. This helps me create a song from scratch, trying to tell a story musically first and building from there lyrically and visually. However, I always write visually, thinking about what to filmically layer on this song.
“I wanted a name that summed up the whole EP. Black Ritual is a ritual taken from an ancient book in our music video and felt fitting to give the EP this name. black ritual That is what holds us together as a collective.
“All of our lyrics are based on the story we are telling, whether it be describing a particular character’s emotions, explaining their intentions, or expanding on a backstory. There are so many different versions of the lines and lyrics that I sift through each one to find the one that fits best and flows the best while preserving the meaning.
Sometimes you have a story and find the song that best fits the concept that tells it, sometimes you let the music completely dictate what story you want to tell.
