To mark their 60th anniversary and St. Patrick’s Day, Irish folk band The Chieftains have released their 2012 album. voice of the times First time on vinyl.
Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the traditional Irish folk band, their 2012 album age of voice will be released on vinyl for the first time.
Produced by T-Bone Burnett to mark the band’s 50th anniversary, this collaborative album features many musical visionaries.
A blend of genres, the album features indie rock artists such as Bon Iver, The Decemberist, The Row Anthem, Paolo Nutini, Civil Wars, Pistol Annies, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Punch. • Includes country and Americana artists such as The Brothers, and Irish folk artists such as Imelda May. and Lisa Hannigan.
The new vinyl release will be released by Claddagh Records in partnership with Kraft Recordings and can be found in stores and online. It’s a 2LP record available on 180g vinyl.
The Chieftains were first formed in Dublin in 1962 as a collaboration between Sean Potts, Michael Tubridy and the late Paddy Moloney. The band became the ‘musical ambassadors of Ireland’ as of 1989 and became prolific in Ireland, the UK and beyond in the mid-’70s, winning six Grammy Awards for him.
Not only did they work on Stanley Kubrick, Barry Lyndon As for the soundtrack, we released successful records throughout the 70’s and 80’s. Luciano Pavarotti, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Sinead O’Connor, Roger Daltrey and Van Morrison are all artists he has collaborated with over the years.
Also, to commemorate the 60th anniversary, it was released in 2022. Chronicles: Sixty Years of The Chieftains An album that collects their best music over the years. This 40-track album is a look back at their decades-long music-making journey.
Last year, Chieftains was also released Bear’s Sonic Journals – Foxhunt, The Chieftains Live in San Francisco, 1973 & 1976The live album includes a final interview with Paddy Moloney of The Chieftains. Provided by the Osley Stanley Foundation and Claddagh Records.
