Spotify is (finally) adding a lock screen widget for iOS 16 that can show you your recently played artists, playlists, albums or podcasts.
Spotify is a little late to the game, but it still beats out Apple Music, which has yet to release an app lock screen widget.

The new version of Spotify for iPhone now supports iOS 16 lock screen widgets. View recently played artists, playlists, albums, podcasts, and even album art on your home screen.
This new feature, available after the version 8.8.26 update, joins other features supported by Spotify on iOS, such as Now Playing, giving iPhone listeners quick access to music controls. Configuration is very easy:
- Turn on your iPhone screen and make sure you’ve unlocked it with Face ID or a passcode first. When the lock screen appears, press and hold your finger on the screen. customize button Tap. customize button.
