Love and Rockets, the energetic and groundbreaking trio of Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins, will perform at this year’s Cruel World Festival in Pasadena, California on May 20. A series of dates have been announced following the performance.
Formed in 1985 after the band Bauhaus’ initial split, Love and Rockets provided a clean slate and an opportunity to delve into the depths of imagination and influence. Underground by the Hernandez brothers, the band, named after his comic, made seven records in 13 years.
They made their mark on the world with their radically unique interpretation of the Temptations classic “Ball Of Confusion.” This debut proved they could be a fighting force. It was a huge hit, becoming a popular club hit in the United States and Canada, and even went gold. It marked the beginning of a career that spanned an impressive 14 years and seven albums.
The band’s legacy is only growing, more people are recognizing their impact, and generations of new fans are discovering them.The Flaming Lips, The Dandy Warhols, The Stranger The list of influences is impressive, including Where to Bury, Jane’s Addiction, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Beck, Maynard Keenan, Dubfire, The Pixies, and more.
