More than two years after the Detroit Lions traded quarterback Matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams for quarterback Jared Goff and a draft pick, the Stafford and Goff worlds are crossing again. .
Kelly Stafford, who is married to Matthew Stafford, recently interviewed Goff and fiancée Kristen Harper for the latest episode of The Morning After With Kelly Stafford podcast.
Harper is a model, content creator, and philanthropist. She and Goff got engaged in June 2022 and plan to get married in the summer of 2024. Harper previously told Sports Illustrated that the two met on the dating app Raya, she said.
Harper has spoken out about how her perception of herself has changed since she started dating Goff.
“For me, having a career has been kind of an interesting dynamic. Where am I now?” Not just Kristen Harper, but I’m now just Jared Goff’s girlfriend or fiancée and like my name to make headlines. ’” she previously said on the podcast Woman of the League, where she is a performer.
Harper, who grew up in California, told Stafford he had never been to Michigan until Goff was traded. The two now live in Bloomfield Hills.
“I hadn’t heard anything positive about Detroit, so I really didn’t know what we were getting into, but of course when I got there, I was like, ‘This place is amazing. ” said Harper.
“There’s something very special about the people there, they’re rabid fans and they just keep supporting, supporting, supporting,” she said.
And Stafford still loves Detroit fans.
“I hated it when they came to a game and booed me and put a bag on my head…I used to hate it. I miss it. They care,” Stafford said. “The loyalty of Lions fans, the fact that they would pay to come to some of the games we had to play, is pretty surreal.”
Harper noticed a difference between fans in California and Detroit.
According to Harper, fans who have seen Goff in California usually want pictures of him, but in Michigan they just want to talk to him.
“I think that says a lot about the difference,” Harper said.
