NBCUniversal chief executive Jeff Schell is leaving the company after investigating an inappropriate workplace relationship, company owner Comcast said in a statement Sunday.
In a statement, Shell said today was his last day and that he “had an inappropriate relationship with a woman at the company.”
“I am truly sorry to have let my colleagues at Comcast and NBCUniversal down. They are some of the most talented people in the industry and it has been an honor to work with them over the last 19 years.”
Comcast’s brief statement didn’t say who would replace Shell at NBCUniversal, which he will lead from 2020.
