Akhil Akkineni’s spy-action thriller Agent is all set to hit theaters on April 28th. Mammootty plays a key role in this film directed by Surender Reddy. Sakshi Vaidya is the female lead and Anil Sunkara produced Agent with his AK Entertainments and Surender 2 Cinema. Hip Hop Tamizha scored the song. Excited or nervous about the release of Agent?
Honestly, I feel more pressure. Not because of the results. Everyone involved in the film has worked day and night for the past 30 days and is still working. More CG is involved.
Don’t you think comparisons to British spy movies affect agents?
I would be very happy if you could compare Agents and James Bonds movies. I am very happy to say that our film is his 10% of the James Bonds films. If we can reach international standards, that is clearly a great achievement.
Can you confidently say that your agent hits the mark?
No one in the whole world can say that. This film can only be said to set a new bar for Akil’s career. One of the things I’m sure of him is that Akhil’s career would be categorized as before the agent and after the agent posted the release of the film.
Is there a fun part about being an agent?
Akhil’s character itself is interesting. The main character enjoys what he is doing. It has nothing to do with Jackie Chan, but it does have some quirky comedy.
Do you think about the hero market before starting a movie?
Generally, if it’s a commercial film, there are certain calculations. But it also depends on who directs the film. For our agents, we were able to achieve more deals than we expected.
Are you comfortable with high-budget or low-budget movies?
It depends. It’s good to make big-budget movies now. If a movie with a large budget is a hit, the brand value will increase dramatically. Financially, however, low-budget movies are less risky.
