Heine also argues for the global South’s involvement in free trade and their willingness to capitalize on the benefits of globalization, even though it means that globalization may collapse along geopolitical lines. Exploring the self-imposed challenge to American hegemony in trade, Heine said that while the United States refuses to participate in free trade, China has the ability to participate in trade with anyone. , explained that he was happy to be involved. As a result, countries such as Ecuador and Uruguay are negotiating trade deals with China over the United States, representing the latest era in global trade relations.
