J Dilla Fans can now acquire rare, previously released music from late producers thanks to Stem Player. A $1.94 monthly subscription gives listeners access to 20 different beats from the Detroit icon, including tracks featured on Dilla’s. roll. 1 and 2 An instrumental album released in the early 2000s. Some of these tracks can be previewed here, including ‘Busta’, ‘Hambro’, ‘Kamaal’ and ‘Earl’. For an extra $30, Stem Player enthusiasts can purchase the Cosmic Spectrum Green Skin on Dilla’s Stem Player page.
Popular around the time of Kanye West’s 2022 album release, The Stem Player scratch 2is a music streaming device and audio remix tool, with some artists loading their own music. Users can add tracks by uploading audio files to the device through an online web application.
This news comes the same week FX premieres Legacy of J. Dilla The documentary debuts April 7 at 10 PM ET (also available to stream on Hulu the next day).presented as an “intimate portrait” by new york timesThe documentary also chronicles Dilla’s health problems following her untimely death in 2006.
