All three members of 90s R&B group NEXT partnered with Naughty By Nature’s Vin Rock and KayGee to form supergroup Next by Nature and released their debut single, ‘That’s Me’.
Considering KayGee produced the R&B trio’s hit singles “Too Close” and “Wifey,” it makes sense for them to reunite like this. “Next is a group that I am in constant personal contact with,” he explained in a statement. “We always talked about music, family, and the possibility of doing family tours for all the artists I produced. And we started with … ‘That’s Me’ and ignited the idea. The sexy lead single was initiated by RL, including the track as well as the lyrics. I added my touch to RL’s great idea and finished with the rest of his Next members and his Vin. ”
RL of NEXT adds: My respect for Naughty and all they have achieved has always been my goal for his NEXT brand. I remember eagerly watching KayGee navigate the studio in awe.
