Canada’s hip-hop queen makes a triumphant return to Vancouver. Mee will hit the stage on Saturday June 3rd as part of Black Music Month, a celebration of black Canadian women in hip-hop during the multi-day festival running June 2nd-4th. An exciting performance will be held with Me on June 3rd. Hip-hop her lineup of artists including her Keysha Freshh in Toronto and her Missy D, Ndidi Cascade and Kia Kadiri in Vancity. Mi is a hip hop trailblazer and pioneer. She was the first Canadian host to sign a record deal with a major American label, releasing her debut album, 1992. Anza Club’s monthly showcase of all genres of local music, The Route Dwellers, has announced its June headline line-up. Showcase is also Pride Month, so Dust Quain, Devers and Kylie V are set to hit the stage on June 23rd. All three artists are making headlines in their local scene and have released recent releases such as: Arcana, was removed last September.
