Usher’s ‘Yeah’ hits one billion Spotify streams

Eight-time Grammy Award-winning global superstar Usher’s record-breaking, chart-topping hit “Yeah!” has been streamed 1 billion times worldwide on Spotify since its release in 2004. New song on Spotify Billions Club from his critically acclaimed album Confession.

Last weekend, Usher joined other powerhouses, including Mariah Carey and Missy Elliott, at a sold-out Lovers and Friends festival in Las Vegas. Usher’s headline performance included special guests Muni Long, Jermaine Dupri, Da Brat, Ali Lennox and Summer Walker.

He will be awarded a Doctor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music on Saturday, May 13, along with Roberta Flack and Sona Jobarte.

Usher’s as-yet-untitled ninth full-length album is due out later this spring on Gamma. In conjunction with the arrival of new music, Usher’s My Way: Las Vegas Residency has just kicked off his second year of sold-out performances in Las Vegas with shows running through October. The superstar will launch a series of exclusive European shows at Paris’ La Seine Musicale in September during Paris Fashion Week.
