Alex Bowman: He thought I had driven the car and tried to drive past him. He had horns made. The only reason I was in his 99 was to protect myself from the 1. Then 1 just slammed me into a corner and threw me off and then I ran into 99 and wiped him out.
Daniel and I have been teammates in the past and have raced together for a long time. I respect him with all my heart. I’m sure he’s still not happy. I tried to explain to him that I wouldn’t let him compete like that, that I was pushed in there.
You see that a lot on these road courses. Last year Indy, Harvick was furious with me and crashed me. Then he watched the video and he was like, man, I crashed the wrong man.
Sometimes it’s a chain reaction. Luckily it worked out for us and we ended up in the top 5.
