Spotify has announced that Toronto-based indie pop artist Katherine Lee will represent Canada as an equal global ambassador for May in honor of Asian Heritage Month.
Throughout the month, the music platform focuses on the contributions, achievements and stories of Asian-Canadian creators in Canada.
“Katherine perfectly embodies the values and essence of the EQUAL brand. That’s exactly what this brand was created for,” Spotify said in a media release on Thursday.
Lee is a 19-year-old indie pop sensation who has always had a passion for performing. In her early years, she took piano lessons and began putting on shows for her friends and family, but it wasn’t until 2019 that she decided it was time for Lee to pursue music professionally.
