Melissa Keller ran to the bathroom and hid because it sounded like a gust of train whistling through the community where she had lived with her family for nearly 50 years.
She was one of the lucky ones in Lewis County. Her house is still standing this morning.
“I’ve never seen anything like this before,” said Keller. “It moved the building over 15 feet.”
Dozens of structures have been destroyed following tornadoes and storms that may have hit parts of southern and southwestern Central Tennessee.

Cannon, Lewis, Macon, Marshall, Rutherford and Wayne counties were devastated Friday night through Saturday morning. Officials with the National Weather Service are still determining whether the violent gust was in fact a tornado.
In the community of Keller in Lewis County, home to the city of Hohenwald in central-central Tennessee, officials counted about 10 homes lost at dawn Saturday. Many more were affected because of
