HERE’S BEKKA — (From Rolling Stone) Bekka Bramlett grew up around John Lennon and George Harrison, but was ready to join Fleetwood Mac in 1994 during one of the rockiest periods in the band’s history. was not
In the summer of 1994 Fleetwood Mac went on tour without Stevie Nicks, Lindsay Buckingham and Christine McVie. The three-singer spot includes drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist John McVie alongside Traffic’s Dave Mason, rockabilly singer Billy Brunette and Becca Bramlett (late ’60s early ’70s rock). • icons, Bonnie and Delaney Bramlett’s 26-year-old daughter).
In his 2014 memoir Play On, Mick Fleetwood wrote, “We ended up with talented people playing good music, but they shouldn’t have toured as Fleetwood Mac. “There were too many important parts missing from this machine. It was a completely different band, just the original drummer and bassist and the original name.”
Fleetwood Mac’s Becca Bramlett incarnation released a single album, 1995’s Time, before breaking up the following year, embarking on a lucrative Hell’s Freeze Over-style reunion album and touring with a classic Rumors line-up. handed over. This period in the band might seem like a footnote to some rock fans, but it was a pivotal time for Bramlett, and she looks back on it with no regrets.
“I knew my job was to get Stevie back,” she told Rolling Stone magazine from her home in Nashville. I knew when I got it I knew I was facing the tomato But I didn’t want to wear a top hat I didn’t want to go round and round I was me I even dyed my hair brown to let people in the cheap seats know Stevie wasn’t here.I didn’t want to put anyone down or let them down.”
Joining Fleetwood Mac at the age of 26 would have come as a shock to most singers’ systems, but Bramlett lived close to rock stars his entire life. When she was a little girl, her parents toured and recorded with George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and many other top rock stars and rose to fame as Delaney & Bonnie & Friends. These artists also spent a lot of time at her mansion in the Hollywood Hills.
Bramlett didn’t realize this was unusual until one morning when she boarded the school bus with a Disney Princess lunchbox. “This other girl had a Beatles lunchbox,” she says. “I told her, ‘I know him. He’s on our couch now. I pointed to George Harrison. ‘I know him too.’ pointed to John. She started hitting me because she thought I was lying. I was petrified and confused. I thought it was my dad’s friend who has an accent. “
When she was just four years old, her father recruited Bekka and her sister Suzanne as background vocals on his song “California Rain.” “Ever since I was a little girl, her mother had to get gaffer tape to secure the headphones to her head,” she says. “I used to hate the sound, but now I love it. It’s so adorable.
Around this time, his parents separated and he lived with his father and grandmother. “It was weird because mothers usually gave birth to babies back then,” she says. She took us to church every Sunday, Wednesday, and Monday, and we were by my grandmother’s side, and both my parents believed in it. think.”
Both Delaney and Bonnie struggled to find solo success in the ’70s and dealt with serious substance abuse problems, but Becca inherited their talents, and from an early age she had a life of her own. “I thought I was going to be a lawyer easily, but I thought I was going to be a singing lawyer,” she says. “After that, I liked horses and wanted to be a jockey, but I wanted to be a singing jockey. Music is what I’m good at.”
As a teenager with a fake ID in the early ’80s, Bramlett spent many nights checking out bands on the Sunset Strip. “She remembers standing beside the stage when Guns N’ Roses was playing,” she says. She “looked at it up close and thought, ‘This is why you shouldn’t try heroin.'” rice field. “
Interestingly, the Fleetwood Mac Time album featured not only Mac’s newest members, but Dave Mason’s introspective “I Wonder Why,” Christine McVie’s flawless “Estoril Nights,” and the track “These Strange Days.” “It was a lot of fun for us. ‘ features the first vocals from Mick Fleetwood.
The replacement of Buckingham by Billy Burnette and Dave Mason gave rise to the common comment that two guitarists were needed instead of Lindsey.
Great work by Andy Green.

I’ve mentioned before that most of the pre-reviews said the script was the star of the premiere episode, and I definitely agree. The episode started with Brian Cox grumpy on his birthday and it took a while for it to become a powerhouse, but it was very, very fun.
Certainly some of the dialogue and plot recalls previous episodes, but it’s so good you barely notice it. It almost always reeked of amazing emotion evoking greatness and stench. All class acts.
