California-based collective The Latin Dead will bring their signature mix of Latin jazz and Grateful Dead music to the East Coast for the first time this July. This large-scale ensemble, including guitarist John Kadlesick (Dark Star Orchestra, Furthur, Melvin Shields & JGB), will be performing from July 26-30 in Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and Bridgeport. The recently released ‘Latin Dead’ eyes of the world Featuring their take on 11 classic Grateful Dead productions. The July tour dates will be their first performances outside of California. The group consisted of bandleader Oscar Hernández (piano), Kadresic, Andy Vargas (vocal), Rene Camacho (base), Andy Sanesi (drum), pete nater (trumpet), Francisco Torres (trombone), Kattis Buckingham (tenor & alto sax, flute), chacha charlie chavez (congas, timbales, bongos, percussion) Brenden Taccone (Brango, conga, bell).
On July 26th, The Latin Dead will begin their short journey with their New York debut at the Brooklyn Bowl. Next, the outfit will appear at the Brooklyn Bowl in Philadelphia on July 27th. It will then head to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Pawtucket on July 29th, before wrapping up the Latin Dead journey on July 30th at Bridgeport’s Park City Music Hall.
