The Defiants recently announced the release of their new album, Drive, on June 9th through Frontiers Music Srl. Watch the video for the new single “19 Summertime” below and pre-order/save the new album here.
Paul Laine, Bruno Ravel and Rob Marcello, all current or former members of beloved rockers Danger Danger, the Defiants’ latest release is an impeccable melodic hard rock It’s a slice.
Best known for releasing four studio albums in 12 years as D2’s vocalist, Paul Laine is back with former bandmates Bruno Ravel and Rob Marcello. Debuted in 2015.
At the suggestion of Frontiers President and Head of A&R, Serafino Perugino, they reunited. He really wanted his current and former members of Danger Danger to offer the band’s fans new music. The finished album was a delight not only for D2 fans, but also for all fans who are into his classic sound of the era in which D2 came out.
The Defiants’ debut album is a glorious return to the “in your face” melodic hard rock that captivated millions of fans in the 80’s and 90’s and is now enjoying a renaissance here in the 21st century. I received great praise. Within his first two weeks of release, the album entered the Top 50 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. Also in the same year, the album ranked him number one in Classic Rock Magazine’s list of the best AOR albums of the year.
Their follow-up album, Sequel, was released in 2019 to critical acclaim. An epic melodic rock album with huge choruses, hooks and soaring guitars and vocals.
And now, after another four-year inter-album wait, The Defiants are back with Drive. This is perhaps their greatest musical achievement…
