Meanwhile, Robert Smith continues to keep his promise to keep ticket prices affordable for fans and discourage scalpers.last week he wrote on twitter: “Beware of another scalper scam: Offer to sell/send your account login details to bypass TM transfer limits… All tickets obtained this way will be canceled and The original fees paid for those tickets will not be refunded…original fees The price paid for these tickets will be donated to Amnesty International and the tickets themselves will be resold to fans.”
Smith also said, “Approximately 7,000 tickets have been canceled out of approximately 2,200 orders. These are tickets obtained by fake accounts/posted on secondary resale sites. We have identified a specific location.” He also told fans to contact Ticketmaster support if they believe their tickets were canceled in error. “This ongoing TM ‘conversation’ is not taking place in a vacuum…a system that puts profits above people is something that really needs to change.” “
