Montreal producer TDJ has announced a series of live tour dates, including the first US show in 2023. The tour will kick off at Club Eternal in Austin on June 8th, followed by dates in LA, Vancouver, Portland, Montreal, Paris and Glasgow. Performances at OSHEAGA Music Festival, DOUR Festival and his Boiler Room event in New York City. All live dates are below.
The tour came right after TDJ set at Igloofest Montreal’s Boiler Room, where she ran through an uptempo mix of hardstyle, Eurodance and personal edits. You can stream it here now. Trance, her producer released her new EP, BACK TO 123, on March 31, 2023, and shared the first preview of her lead single, “Save Me,” via Collection Disques Durs.
Known for her fluid productions that have dominated dance floors and summer festivals in Canada and Europe, rising star TDJ has created her own captivating world of electronic music that is captivating and unique.
The artist’s influences range from the uplifting sounds of Eurodance and trance to the melancholic melodies of emo, shoegaze and punk. Tying these sounds together is TDJ’s exploration of emotional transcendence and sentimentality. It’s a hearing like riding a motorcycle into the Ibiza sunset.
Pitchfork took special note of the current rise of the global trance movement that puts TDJ and her song and video genius at the forefront of what’s happening around the world.
With her next EP, BACK TO 123, TDJ returns to the main storyline and expands on the narrative of her debut mixtape, TDJ123. Her lead sets the pace for the release with her track Save Me. This is an airy, bittersweet 123 BPM progressive her house track, featuring her distinctive TDJesque vocals her topline, and TDJ singing her breakthrough single “Lalala (Want Somebody).” Following in her footsteps with confidence.
We see her doing what she does best, where rave euphoria meets emo melancholy. That means pirouettes between genre mashups, pushing the boundaries of what electronic music should and should be, and embracing the unexpected. As TDJ’s evolution continued, her final release marked the artist’s successful year, and she guested her mixes for HÖRBerlin, Trax Magazine, Boiler Room, and more.
