Whitianga’s summer concert has been canceled for the second time.
Greenstone Entertainment has decided to host concerts at Hamilton’s Claudelands Oval instead of the traditional Coromandel Peninsula concerts.
The move will be for one year only, and will return to Coromandel once state road infrastructure repairs are complete.
“We love the Coromandel region. It fits perfectly with our ethos of bringing live music entertainment to New Zealand’s favorite summer vacation destination,” said Amanda, CEO of Greenstone Entertainment. Calvert says.
“We are delighted that the Coromandel region will be fully reconnected once again with the recent announcement of funding to build a new bridge over State Highway 25A. We have communicated that a one-year hiatus in 2024 will allow time for the planned new infrastructure to take hold.
“Both Whitianga and the venue itself are perfect venues for our shows. We have a 10-year contract with the Thames Coromandel District Council and our Whitianga Summer Concerts regularly attract more than 15,000 concert-goers. and can’t wait to get back there again in 2025.
“We have given a lot of thought to where to host our second show in 2024, and having it in Hamilton will help not only the people in the Hamilton neighborhood, but also those traveling from Auckland, Auckland and beyond. We believe that it will also make it more accessible to people, not only staying in the Coromandel, but also offering a variety of accommodation options.”

The rest of the North Island shows return to their traditional Auckland Day weekend slot. chance The summer concert will take place on Saturday, January 27th, with the tour’s second show heading to Hamilton’s Claudelands Oval on Sunday, January 28th as a temporary venue in 2024.
The tour concludes with the Gibbston Valley Winery Summer Concert in Queenstown on Saturday 3rd February, which will be a great opportunity for many concertgoers. Would definitely use again for a long weekend in Waitangi.
