Waukee High School and Northwest High School both have spring musicals in April. Waukee High School presents “Mary Poppins,” while Northwest High School presents “Chicago the Musical.” ‘Mary Poppins’ opens April 14-16 at the Waukee Auditorium and is presented by the Waukee Theater Arts Program. “Chicago” is his April 21-23 performance at the Northwest Auditorium by the Northwest Theater Arts Program. Both schools will have the opportunity to perform for the other school to show their support for the arts of the Walkie CSD.

The Waukee Theater Arts presents Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s “Mary Poppins.” Musical based on the story of PL Travers and Walt Disney films. The performance will take place on Friday, April 14th at 7pm in the Waukee High School Auditorium, 555 SE University Ave, Waukee, IA 50263. Saturday, April 15 at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Sunday, April 16, 2:00 PM Tickets are $10 and are available online and at the door.

The wind turns and Mary Poppins appears to fulfill her family’s wishes. Although her methods are somewhat otherworldly, she teaches her family some valuable lessons in her honest way, but is by no means without an element of fun and imagination! Northwest High School Presents ‘Chicago’
“Chicago: Teen Edition” from Northwest Theater Arts. Musical by John Kander, based on the novel by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse. The performance will take place on Friday, April 21st at 7pm at the Waukee Northwest Auditorium, 655 NW N 10th St, Waukee, IA 50263. Saturday, April 22nd, 2:00pm and 7:00pm. Sunday, April 23, 2:00 PM Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online and at the door.
Chicago: Teen Edition tells the story of two women, Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart, who are on trial for murder while aiming for stardom. They both land in the Cook County Jail and plot a comeback to get the spotlight and release from prison. Learn about ‘All That Jazz’ as you travel back in time to the 1920s. “Chicago: Teen Edition” is recommended for ages 13 and up due to the mature content and theme throughout the show.
