Reportedly, this issue only affects iOS users, and it consistently fails to play selected podcast episodes.

One of those affected claims that Spotify will always start playing the latest podcast episode. Older episodes of the podcast won’t play at all, no matter how many times I try.

Some users have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but it didn’t seem to help. Logging into and out of your Spotify account does not resolve the issue.

Luckily, the issue of Spotify playing the wrong podcast episode from the search bar has been acknowledged. This bug is currently under investigation, but an ETA for the fix is ​​not yet available.
