DuPont Columbia University AwardThe series now has the prestigious Pulitzer Prize and Peabody Award on its list. Stolen Follow Connie as she recounts her father’s harrowing experiences at boarding school in Canada in the 1960s. Throughout the season she exposes severe abuse by school administrators. This led to her childhood death and adulthood trauma. This result wasn’t just for St. Michaels.
I also received the podcast honorable mention The Dart Awards recognize outstanding coverage across all media that accurately, insightfully and sensitively portrays traumatic events and their aftermath while revealing the impact of violence and tragedy on the lives of victims.
3rd season this fall Stolen It takes listeners to Navajo country as Connie and the team investigate the case of two missing Navajo women. “It’s huge. In a remote area of 27,000 square miles she has less than 200 tribal police officers,” she explains Connie. “One of the things I’ve learned so far is that it’s often difficult to prove the missing-to-kill line in Navajo Nation. It’s based on the themes we’ve been exploring, but hopefully built in a different and exciting way for our listeners.”
