Spotify now supports a whopping 74 languages, thanks to 11 new additions

Spotify has been one of the top players in the audio streaming industry for many years. Known for its massive music library complemented by an excellent content recommendation engine and an ever-growing podcast library. Other factors that underpin Spotify’s appeal are its geographic availability and long list of regional languages. The service now supports 11 new languages, further expanding its reach.

Local language availability may not seem like a big deal, but it makes your service available in a language that more users can understand. Spotify has launched support for his 24 languages. That’s enough for a new streaming service to establish itself. Since then, 36 new languages ​​have been added in 2021 to enhance cross-region compatibility.

This time, we have added 11 additional languages ​​supported on mobile, bringing the total to 74 languages. Notable additions to the list include English (UK), Arabic in Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Egypt, and Spanish in Mexico and Argentina. These are all important factors, and a market that the streaming giants are failing to exploit to its full potential. A complete list of the 11 new additions is available below.

The streaming service says the new language will make the service more accessible to users and facilitate dialogue between creators and listeners.

Along with additional language support, Spotify has been experimenting with a new user interface on desktop. It replaces the old web UI with a scrollable main section with a simple list-like sidebar and carousel. Instead, the new interface uses cards with rounded corners and adds a tweaked playlist display to the sidebar.

No official announcement yet, so it could be an A/B test, but hopefully the new UI will be rolled out as widely as the new language support.
