Last month, Spotify launched DJ. This is a program that uses AI to deliver curated playlists to users. Continuing to build new ways of personalized experiences, the streaming service has rolled out another new feature called Niche Mixes.
The platform already offers Spotify Mixes, with personalized playlist recommendations sorted by age, mood, genre, and more. Expanding on the original, Niche Mixes is billed as “a set of personalized playlists that combine everything Mixes has to offer in a playful way.”
Users will have access to tens of thousands of more specific playlists based on just about any category imaginable. Sample niche mixes currently available include Feel Good Morning Mix, 80’s Running Mix, and Driving Singalong Mix.
To stream niche mixes, simply visit the Made For You hub within the search tab. From there, Spotify recommends 5-10 mixes that the user might like. If you already have a certain type of music in mind, you can search for “activity, atmosphere, or aesthetics” followed by the word “mix” to bring that music to mind.
Spotify promises to keep things fresh by combining the classics users already know with new cuts.
In other music news, Quavo announced the release date of their new single “Honey Bun”.
