Spotify is releasing a new, curated experience for listeners in celebration of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
For the past few years, Ramadan-related playlists have remained static throughout the month. This year, the music streaming app will introduce a variety of new content related to Ramadan and Islam that changes daily, from Quran recitations and cooking shows to audio series about Ramadan traditions.
“Ramadan is now the time for podcast creators to think of special programming for their audience. More and more podcasters are releasing series that will be the ultimate companion for all their audiences.”
Throughout the month, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset and focus on prayer and contemplation.
According to the company, listeners will find personalized content under the “Your Ramadan 2023” playlist, watch music and talk about what is trending in their country.
Other content changes daily, including stories about fasting, self-reflection, and health. In addition, some contents change depending on the time zone.
Senior Product Manager Nick Dahl said: A version of Spotify tailored to each listener.
The new experience will also include Eid content related to the religious holiday Muslims celebrate at the end of the month to mark the completion of Ramadan.
Listeners can access the experience by searching for “Ramadan” on the Spotify app.
