Today, Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós announced exclusive, special dates in which the band will perform with a 41-piece orchestra in both Europe and North America.
Sigur Rós has also announced the release of his new album, his first studio album in ten years, in June.
Sigur Roth, who has been writing and recording for the past few years, will debut a new song to the world. North American Wordless Music With his orchestral accompaniment, the band performs new songs and fan favorites from its extensive catalog.
The tour kicks off with a gig at the Meltdown Festival in the UK, where the band will perform with the London Contemporary Orchestra, which will accompany the band on their upcoming European tour dates. All orchestral dates are conducted by Rob Ames.
Last year, Sigur Rós completed a successful world tour and celebrated the return of keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson after a ten-year hiatus.
Meanwhile, the band continued to work on their first new album in ten years and held recording sessions with the London Contemporary Orchestra at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.
