Sherman Joshi and Shriya Saran are starring in a unique musical titled School of Music which will be filmed in three languages simultaneously: Telugu, Hindi and Tamil. Directed and produced by former bureaucrat and first-time filmmaker Papa Rao Biyala, the film was produced under Yamini Films and features music by Ilaiyaraaja. Filming will conclude on his 2022 and is currently gearing up for a summer release.
The Music School makers have unveiled a new motion poster for the film while confirming its release date on Tuesday. The cozy and feel-good poster for this project depicts Shriya with her Saran and her group of children riding in a car in a surreal location. The film, which promises to be poignant and entertaining about the morbidity of the educational system and the importance of art in life, hits theaters May 12th.
Sri Venkateswara Creations and PVR Films have partnered with Yamini Films for publication. Given the film’s theme, it’s only natural that it’ll hit the screens this summer, and the producers feel it has the potential to appeal to audiences of all ages. It’s shot on scale and promises a strong performance by the cast.
Renowned cinematographer Kiran Deohans, known for films like Aks, Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham, cranks the camera and Rajeev Nair is the production designer.The musical’s star-studded cast includes Prakash Raj, (singer) Shaan , Suhasini Mulay, Bugs Bhargava, Leela Samson, Mona Ambegaonkar, Srikanth Iyengar, Vinay Varma, Phani Eggone, etc.
The film was shot in several locations in Hyderabad and Goa during the past few years under strict COVID-19 restrictions. Manan Sagar is the editor and Raaga Reddy is in charge of costume design. Yamini Rao and Akshay Balsaraf are Creative Producers and Executive Producers respectively. A full-fledged promotional campaign for the film will soon begin.
