Northeastern US melodic metal band Sebad Angel have released a new music video for the song “A New Beginning” from the band’s self-titled debut album, which was released on May 2nd in CD and digital formats.
Sevard Angel commented: “‘A New Beginning’ is the third single and video (directed by drummer Wayne Noon) from Severed Angel’s self-titled debut release. The song is the second part of ‘Severed Angel Suite’. , which includes the title track (Part 1) and “With Wings Anew” (Part 3).
Guitarist Lou Mabs describes the song’s writing process as unlike anything he’d experienced before. “I had a riff that I wrote about 20 years ago, and I couldn’t do anything about it until I fixed it and brought it to the band. Wayne suggested we build a song around the riff. If Sometimes the easiest solution is the best solution, but he was right, and then the music started writing automatically.For me, writing this album was a process. I had to work through the grief, and this song was the culmination of taking that feeling and translating it into something positive.George (Dimitri, bassist), Mark (Mushnik, keyboardist) and Alex. Having (Repetit, vocalist/guitarist) on board from the beginning was very meaningful and their performance added weight to the song.”
“In some ways, Severed Angel Suite explores the hero’s journey through five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. It’s easy to get bogged down when surrounded by the negative things in life. Only one thing is needed to get you out of that state. It can be an artistic endeavour, friends, family, or whatever. I believe that we have muses and angels to guide us in life. give us hope ”
Guest vocalist Gail Burke adds gorgeous harmonies to Alex’s vocal melody. Part ballad and part anthem, “A New Beginning” is Severed Angel’s message to the world.
