The Smashing Pumpkins will tour this summer. On Tuesday, the group, led by Billy Corgan, announced a 26-stop ‘The World Is a Vampire’ tour.
Interpol, Stone Temple Pilots, and Rival Suns perform in cities such as Dallas, Irvine, Tampa, Toronto, and Charlotte, traveling across the country to join groups on specific dates.The tour will kick off after the group releases the final act of her three-part album Atum May 5th.
“I grew up in a world that needed to know that bands like Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Cure existed. It was meant to have a place. That’s ‘The World Is A Vampire,'” Corgan said in a press release. “Regain a sense of community. If you don’t fit in, you belong here. It’s about sharing experiences, respecting others, but ultimately having fun.”
He added, “It’s a true alternative festival where self-proclaimed weirdos and outsiders from all over the world can come together and party.”
Advance tickets go on sale Tuesday at 12:00 pm local time, and general sale tickets go on sale Friday at 10:00 am local time.
The group celebrated their new tour dates by releasing the song “Spellbinding” on Tuesday after dropping the first two acts. Atum Earlier this year, it featured songs like “Beyond the Vale” and “Beguiled.”
