Sam Pounds releases title track from upcoming debut LP
“Don’t forget where you came from”
Nashville CMA Fest performance set for June 10th
June 2, 2023 – today, Sam Pounds liberated “Don’t forget where you came from” The title track from his debut LP, due out on June 23rd. The release, via Penthouse South/Sumerian Records, features the originals ‘Preacher’s Daughter’ and ‘She Get It From Her Mama’, as well as covers by Palaye Royale, Bad Omens, Kings of Leon and more. .
“Don’t forget where you came from” The work is a musical tribute to Pound’s cultural and familial roots and aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of his identity. The track showcases a blend of soul, rock, country and blues, and was inspired by his grandmother and mother, who recorded the track’s video with other members of his family. has appeared in “This is the most personal song for me to date,” Pounds says. “I’m proud of my rural North Carolina upbringing because it laid the foundation for where I wanted to go.”
Pounds recently performed at the Del Sur Music Festival in San Diego, California, playing over 200 shows at famous Los Angeles clubs such as Black Rabbit Rose, Delilah’s and Bar Lys. On June 10th, he will perform at CMA Fest at Analog’s Slim & Husky stage with Willie Jones and RVSHVD.
Pounds is not only an artist, he is also a versatile producer working across genres ranging from pop, R&B, rock, rap, hip-hop, EDM and country. His recent production credits include Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dogg, BTS, TI, Willie Jones, Lee Bryce and more.
