Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Thousands packed the streets of Fort Lauderdale on Saturday morning for the 18th Annual Florida AIDS Walk and Music Festival.
“The Florida AIDS Walk & Music Festival not only raised more than $2 million for local HIV/AIDS services, but also encouraged attendees to take action against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ discriminatory and hateful conduct. Internationally acclaimed rapper, singer and composer Flo Rida also performed for the crowd after a 5km walk.
A native of Carroll City, Flo Rida began his career with the breakout single “Low” in 2008, which has sold over 80 million records worldwide.
AHF is the world’s largest non-profit HIV/AIDS service organization.
Event organizers expect more than 2,000 attendees and will raise more than $2 million for 12 local nonprofits that will provide HIV/AIDS services throughout South Florida communities. said.
The event also featured resource booths to share information on games for kids, food trucks, a variety of family activities, and health and wellness services.
